About Me

I am Amelia, the Work of the Lord and first and foremost, a daughter of the Most High God.  After that, I am the daughter of loving earthly parents and the oldest of four siblings.  Most of my best memories are from times spent with my family - wakeboarding, inner tubing (especially when we get more than one going and crash into each other!), playing pinochle, Apples to Apples or whatever other game we are into at the time, mom reading a book aloud to us for hours on end because we wouldn't let her stop, eating dinner all together or just hanging around by the pool in the afternoon and watching a movie in the evening.

I'm a total theater nut!  I did quite a few musicals in high school and had the time of my life, but I've only been able to be in two plays since then.  Rather sad, but I was able to use the things I had learned to co-teach a theater class with my former home school group for two years and that was a blast!  It was great watching the kids learn and blossom in their talents and it was a blessing to watch the group grow from 5 kids to 14 over the two years I was there.  It's since grown even more and it's bittersweet to go see the shows - I love seeing everybody, but I must admit that I miss teaching it sometimes.

Books and movies are also a passion of mine (hence two pages dedicated to books).  I'm working on weaning myself off of the movies a bit, but I do really enjoy a good movie!  And books... well, let's just put it this way: growing up, how many times was your punishment no reading for a week??  Brutal!

I am a home school graduate and PROUD OF IT!!  After high school graduation, I took a semester off and then started working on my bachelor's through CollegePlus!  I was able to graduate with my bachelor's in Liberal Studies in 13 months while still be able to work for my dad, volunteer at the local Crisis Pregnancy Center and teach high school theater for my former home school group.  It was great!!  Best of all, I was able to keep a flexible schedule, so I could drop everything and go to the lake if we decided to take the boat out or if we were going to Disneyland or if Grandma and Grandpa needed some help making the traditional Christmas tortellini and kifli cookies!

Since graduation over a year ago, I have been working as a coach for CollegePlus! and loving it!  I have all female students and I love each and everyone of them and call them my girls.  It really blesses my heart to see what God is doing in each of their lives.  It's also very interesting when they are going through something that I have been through before and God allows me to share my story with them and how God proved His faithfulness to me in that circumstance.

The desire of my heart of hearts is to get married, be a helpmeet to my husband, a keeper at home and raise and home school a family as large as God wants to give me (I truly believe that HE is the author of life, HE is the One that forms new lives in the wombs of their mothers and HE'S the One who gets to decide how many children He wants to bring into the world through me, be it 0 or 12.  And if He decides that I'm not going to bring any children into the world, but am going to adopt some of the 147,000,000 orphans that are already alive, that's fine, too).  However, until that day comes (and through a series of circumstances, God has promised me this will happen), I am content to live at home for as long as I feel God wants me here, serving and growing in Him day by day.  Some days I do better than others, but I long to grow closer to my Lord and Savior each and every day and become more and more the woman He created me to be.  And that is The Great Adventure!
